Welcome

Conservation is both inherently challenging and hopeful.

I strive to promote the latter without ignoring the former.

I am a decision scientist and conservation ecologist working as an Associate at Compass Resource Management.. My (and Compass's) work helps guide groups of people toward good decisions that balance the needs of society and nature. I use interdisciplinary, partner-driven approaches - under the umbrella of decision analysis - to better understand conservation and environmental management issues and identify effective, equitable solutions. Much of my work has focused on at-risk and endangered species conservation contexts, used ecological models and expert elicitation to predict consequences of potential actions, and considered important tradeoffs among ecological, economic, and social interests of a wide range of stakeholders.
